Glovin' it

So, I bought a new winter coat.

My black faux fur coat that had been lovingly dubbed the 'teddy bear coat' just HAD to be laid to rest.  It was getting super grungy from putting it through two rainy Seattle fall/winter seasons and the crappy polyester pocket bags were shredded.  I sewed them up multiple times but they has as much Frankenstein surgery as they could take.

Now, I didn't just get any ole winter coat. I got a freaking amazing, beautiful Pendleton Portland collection wool coat that makes me shake with excitement and love.  Too much?  I don't care.  Look at this B and tell me that you don't have the same reaction.

Notice one minor flaw in this otherwise perfect coat... the 3/4 sleeves.

This gives me the opportunity to purchase something that I have always secretly/not-so-secretly wanted... elbow length leather gloves.  This is a problem because I have the hands of a small child.  Seriously, I have to buy gloves in the kids section.  And I'm pretty sure they don't sell elbow-length leather gloves in child's sizes.

SO...

FINGERLESS LEATHER GLOVES ANYONE?!?! If you've ever tried to google search that, it's ROUGH.  But, of course, I did manage to weed through all of the weird S&M business and find two options.

Of course, the first one just happens to be Alexander Wang.  One of my favorite designers.  IT'S LIKE HE KNOWS ME OR SOMETHING.  But they're 200 big ones.  That's a lot to pay for a pair of gloves that 1. don't even have fingers on 'em and 2. I am really only buying them to go with one coat.

But how perfect are these bad boys...

or there is another version at Nordies that is very similar at half the price. (But still $100 is a lot for gloves, in my opinion)  Picture them in black...cause you know I don't wear brown. DUH.

Thoughts? Feelings? Ideas of where to get a cheaper pair that don't look like hooker gloves?

I'm thinking of even attempting to make a pair of my own, but we shall see.
